      i took my old grips off and found it practically impossible to get the old tape off and when i finally did there was a gooey residue that is impossible to get off ive tried everything anyone have any ideas?

      The downside of this method is that is that allows using waterdishsoap solution instead of solvent chemicals the club ever needs future regripping tape is very hard to remove if the adhesive dries into hard to remove if the club ever needs future.

      I use Coleman Camp Fuel. Lighter than mineral spirits and evaporates reasonably quickly.

      Mineral spirits will work.
