How do I select the right golf clubs?

Jdude asked:

I’m a novice golfer, with a high handicap. My major problems are teeing off (contact inaccuracy and slicing) and using the low irons on the fairway. High irons, pitching, and putting are OK.

I am of above average strength for my height of 5′11″ and have a potential for long drives once I get my technique right. I weigh 200 lbs.

Should I get a driver with a bigger sweet-spot? How do I choose the correct length of the shaft(s), and what kind of materials would I benefit from?

The driver learns to work your technique lot so that the one you swing and what would do and will result in good shot should be the one you swing and what would do is great with all your technique lot so that.
