Club Reshafting Advice for a Beginner?
December 7th, 2009 | by admin |I am a beginner golfer, and am somewhat tall (6′4″)
Sets that i have tried that are standard length feel too short for my play. I am constantly hitting the top of the ball, and bending my knees almost 45 degrees just to be able to make good contact. It looks goofy, and i think i am losing a lot of stability in my lower body during my swing.
So my question is, Can you reshaft any golf club to make them longer? It is hard to find clubs manufactured to be +1 inch, and if i could just buy standard clubs, then have them reshafted, it would save me time and effort. Thanks!
Thanks everyone who has responded so far. However, I knew about all these alternatives already. Please don’t patronize me.
If you have a relavent answer to my question of Whether or not I can add length to a standard length club.

My best advice is to go get fitted. At 6′4″, and using standard length clubs, you will develop bad habits that may stick with you for a while. As a beginner, there are many opportunities out there in shaft selection that are inexpensive. good luck

You can buy clubs that are “over-length” Any thing you want.
You can re-shaft any length you want.
You can even add length to the grip end by using a plug.
Keep in mind swing weights and shaft flex will change.
There is more but this should do for now.
