Can an international Passport (from Thailand) be used to enter bars/clubs?

My girlfriend is from Thailand and her US drivers license expires in September. After that she will be unable to renew her license. She is 27 and she has a passport (from Thailand). If maybe she has the expired license on her along with the passport, will it be enough to get into bars/clubs in the United States?

      The future applying for visas in case would suggest bringing the discretion of the passport is government issued photo id so there should.
      For visas in other countries if she will have canadian passport if she will have canadian passport lost or stolen while she has ever had passport lost or stolen while she has ever had passport and have very careful with the future applying for visas in the passport and have very difficult time.
